ANGKOR

Angkor to wsółczesna nazwa dla państwa Khmerów istniejącego od 802 do 1432 na terenie dzisiejszej Kambodży. Nazwą tą określa się także kompleks zabytkowych kamiennych budowli pozostałych po Imperium Khmerów - m.in. miasta, świątynie, itp. Uważa się, że było to największe miasto na świecie sprzed rewoucji przemysłowej. Zamieszkiwało je około milion osób. Kompleks ten jest wpisany na listę UNESCO. Więcej o Angkorze TUTAJ.

Angkor is the modern name for the state of Khmer existing from 802 to 1432 on the territory of today Cambodia. This name is defined as a complex of historic stone buildings remaining after the Khmer Empire - including cities, temples, etc. It is thought that it was the largest city in the world prior to the industrial revolution. Siem Reap to miasto w północno-zachodniej Kambodży, czwarte pod względem wielkości. Zamieszkuje go niecałe 200 tys osób. W pobliżu Siem Reap znajdują się pozostałości dawnej stolicy Imperium Khmerskiego, Angkoru.

Siem Reap is a city in north-western Cambodia, the fourth largest. It is inhabited by less than 200 thousand people. Nearby Siem Reap are the remains of the ancient capital of Khmer Empire, Angkor.

Polska stacja polarna w Hornsundzie na Spitsbergenie to jedyna tak daleko wysunięta na północ polska placówka badawcza, w której przez cały rok prowadzi się badania naukowe. Napisali jednak do nas, że tam wcale nie jest tak zimno - to tylko kwestia przyzwyczajenia :)

Bihac is a city in north-western Bosnia by the river Una. It lies in the Bosanska Krajina. 97% of the population are Muslims. In the Middle Ages Bihac belonged to Croatia.

Mostar to nieformalna stolica Hercegowiny. Leży w południowo-zachodniej części Bośni, nad rzeką Neretwą. Najważniejszym zabytkiem w mieście jest XVI-wieczny kamienny Stary Most, zburzony podczas wojny w roku 1993 a odbudowany w 2004 roku.

Mostar is an informal capital of Herzegovina. It is located in the south-western part of Bosnia, the river Neretva. The most important building in town is the XVI century Old Bridge, destroyed during the war in 1993 and rebuilt in 2004.
